After Javik fell on the sidewalk outside tonight, I brought him inside to bandage him up. After I'd rinsed his knee with peroxide, and put some medicine and a band-aid on it he dropped this on me : "Mommy, thanks for the band-aid. but I dont' think you're a doctor."
wow.
and then while we were hanging out he started in on a rant about his aggression toward his "sister" Ipsie. "When my baby Ipsie takes away my toys, I get mad at her and give her a spankin."
That's a lot of anger toward a baby who doesn't exist.
=]
fyi: Javik has now named his baby "brother" Juke. Juke & Ipsie.
[[In his defense, his name is JAVIK. He doesn't really know what 'real people' names should be.]]

We've spent many an hour in the bathroom this summer... Javik is finally (mostly) diaper-free! Oh Happy Day at the CH house!
However, during those multiple hours helping him, um, figure this out, we've had some funny moments.
1. nearly every time he's... going... he uses the phrase "It's important that I listen to my body!" Thank you Elmo for this fantastic life advice.
2. he stands on the toilet to pee. yep, ON the toilet. he just climbs right up there and lets it go. so far, he hasn't missed.
3. (this moment might very well be my fave) :: one afternoon he was going through a particularly difficult potty moment... #2 just takes quite a bit more effort... and as we were sitting there, myself on the edge of the bathtub, Jav on the throne, he grunted a little and said "Mommy..."
I said "What do you need, buddy?"
His reply, and I quote, (read in a grunty/desperate voice) "I just need this poop to hit the water!"

All that to say we've had an interesting, but fabulous summer!
And I'll say it again : DIAPER FREE (mostly)! LOL

Last night, Javik and I were journeying home from a roadtrip south...
we stopped to refuel and this was the convo:
"Um, Mommy. I'd like to watch a movie."
"OK....pick a movie any movie" as I fanned them before his eyes. "You can watch Cars, Robots, or Cat in the Hat."
so Jav kicked back in his seat, put his hands behind his head, and proceeded to 'order'... "OK. I'll take a large, sweet movie called Cat in the Hat!"
WOW.

And this morning I learned the importance of using correct grammar with a 3 yr old.
Again, in the car, (we're in the car a lot) I handed him a bag containing his power rangers and said "here, you can play with these too"
he said "yes I can"
I said "yeah, that's what I said, you CAN"
"no, you said I can't..."
Couple Things:
1. if he were anyone's child but my own, he probably wouldn't even have been arguing with me about what I said (or didn't say)
2. if I had only been grammatically correct, "here, you may play with these as well," no problems.
Save yourselves the hassle people, use correct grammar.

as he was walking into his room... "See this door? No Looky. No Touchy."

and as he was headed downstairs for bed... "Um, I'm a little bit thirsty."
me: "well maybe I could get you something to drink before night night."
him: "um OK. like maybe a juice box?"

funny kid.

I came across this violent scenario this morning in the living room...
I asked Javik what was going on.
He said "Oh, my crocodile is just eating that Power Ranger."
I said "Well, why on earth is he eating him?!"
He said "Well because he just stuck his head right in his mouth!"

Simple logic. Works every time.

as Javik was helping me drive down the driveway he's looking everywhere but at the road...
I said "You have to look where you're going there Turkey!"
and he replied "OK, OK, OK. I'm lookin, Crazy Pants!"
=] lol
